Profile & privacy

How we contact you, what you have permitted, and how the app works for you.

Demonstration only. There are no accounts in this prototype and no settings are saved. Everything below shows how the controls would work.

Communication preferences

Every one of these is optional and separate. We do not make research participation depend on agreeing to any of them, and we do not use participant information for unrelated marketing.

Accessibility settings

Your information

  • See what information ACM holds about you
  • Correct something that is wrong
  • Withdraw a permission you previously gave
  • Ask us to stop contacting you entirely
  • Request deletion of information that is not subject to a retention requirement

What withdrawal and deletion can and cannot do

You can withdraw from a study at any time, and you can withdraw permission to be contacted at any time. Those take effect going forward.

Deletion is not automatic. When you have taken part in a study, regulations and study agreements usually require the research records already collected to be kept for a defined retention period. That means some information cannot be erased on request, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you ask, we will tell you specifically what must be kept, why, and for how long.
