About ACM
The name is about the science. The mission is about the people.
Advanced Cellular Mechanics is a clinical research organization based in Mobile, Alabama, building a community-centered research model.
Our founder and President
Advanced Cellular Mechanics was founded and is led by a registered nurse with oncology nursing certification (OCN) who is also a certified clinical research associate (CCRA). Her career spans nursing care, clinical trial operations, and participant-focused research.
That combination shapes how ACM works. Trial operations and monitoring experience informs the quality and documentation side of a research site. Bedside nursing informs the part people actually feel: whether they understood what they agreed to, whether the visit schedule fits their life, and whether anyone asked.

Our research model
ACM is designed as a research site organization that works alongside trusted community medical practices rather than pulling people away from them.
Clinical oversight
Studies are conducted under a qualified investigator with defined delegation of research duties, documented training, and protocol-specific responsibilities.
Participant support
Plain-language explanations, time to ask questions, help with scheduling and travel logistics where a study allows it, and a named research contact.
Sponsor and CRO relationships
Feasibility, startup, regulatory support, coordination, recruitment operations, monitoring readiness, and closeout — handled as site responsibilities.
Quality-focused site operations
Source documentation practices, deviation and quality tracking, and defined escalation pathways are planned as core operations, not afterthoughts.
Community participation in planning
ACM is establishing a Community Advisory Board and an internal Community Research Review Committee so community perspective reaches study decisions before recruitment starts.
Access closer to home
The goal is research conducted in familiar community healthcare settings, with the existing patient–physician relationship intact.

ACM Community Ready
A proposed internal standard for assessing whether a study is designed in a way that addresses real community participation barriers. It assesses study design, never individuals or communities. It is not an accreditation and no badge is being issued.
